Specialists

Specialists are those physicians who have advanced education and specialized training in treating certain diseases or treating medical conditions in certain parts of the body, or in providing medical assistance for selected types of emotional or psychosomatic problems or physiological processes where medical intervention may be required. The common examples are Eye specialists, ENT specialists, Nephrologists, Gynaecologists, Skin specialists,  Orthopedics, Psychiatrists, and Psychologists.

When you have an ailment, it is generally preferable to first approach your open-minded general physician who already has a background knowledge of your body and medical history. He/she will be in a good position to decide whether and when you should go to a specialist.
